I first met Bill Lam at the Southern NJ FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Regional Championship. He was a volunteer judge who had traveled down from North Jersey. In the judging room, he was clearly the engineer and the comic, fully engaged in my sons’ team's presentation about an invention to help musicians. His effervescent personality resonated perfectly with the energy level of our team, resulting in a judging session that he enthusiastically called “15 minutes of pure Dopamine."
 

Our team then advanced to the American Robotics Open Championship (AROC). Bill co-founded this event with his wife and a friend right after COVID-19. They saw a gap and filled it, creating a new venue for top-tier regional teams who couldn't attend the FLL World Championship. We had a fantastic experience. I mentioned to Bill that we would love to volunteer and help him grow the event. He immediately put us to work. Because of that exchange, both of my sons served as Emcees at the AROC competition in 2025 and will serve again in 2026.
 

That story is Bill in a nutshell: sociable, magnetic, energetic, analytical, organized, and absolutely committed to community well-being and the enablement of future generations. Today, dozens of teams from over 30 states spend millions of dollars to compete at AROC every year. Bill and his team successfully manage over 120 volunteers annually, and many, including my sons, actively look forward to helping him.
 

Bill would be an outstanding steward of the Livingston community. His business acumen, engineering background, effervescent personality, and commitment to the sustainable growth of our future generations make him a tremendous asset, and it is my absolute pleasure to endorse him for the Livingston Town Council.
